Chief Executive Officer
David Stone has been a part of Kensington Glass Arts for more than 30 years.
In 1981, after studying at the Rhode Island School of Design, he joined Victorian Glass Works in Kensington, Maryland. Acquiring the company six years later, he re-named it Kensington Glass Arts and has directed the transformation from small stained glass studio to the major commercial glass company it is today.
He is a terrible project manager and these days his role is mostly focusing on strategic reading of tea leaves, keeping abreast of changing market trends and being KGa’s Chief Culture Officer. This work makes him a frequent visitor to glass companies and trade fairs around the world, both to learn the latest in technology and techniques and to share the expertise of KGa.
He’s also pretty good at figuring things out, working with design teams and bringing advanced knowledge of design and construction methodology. Identifying the impossible is tricky, figuring out how to do it is David’s job.
